Hot Yoga is the shiz.  I bought a membership to a hot yoga studio over winter break through a groupon deal and I can officially say I am obsessed. I started out with a bikram class, where you go through a series of 26 poses and sweat buckets upon buckets as the room reaches 105 degrees. I thought I was going to faint halfway through my first class. I was overwhelmed by the old half naked people, the unbearable heat, the moans and sighs as people vocalized their yogic experience, if I had the right clothes on, and everyone who was bending and stretching so effortlessly. To my surprise, by the end of the class I did not want to get off my mat. 

Yoga is the perfect combination of exercise and rest. I fell more and more in love after each class. I began to not mind the so-hot-you-want-to-collapse-heat, the “ommmmmmms”, and the repetitive postures I would challenge myself in class after class  (as a beginner that’s probably one of the reasons I love bikram over any other type of yoga I’ve tried). After each class I felt stronger, energized, revitalized, I slept better, and overall I just felt so in touch with my body. Summer is the perfect time to try something new, try yoga!!
